A playtime poem
When I eat my lunch
I go munch, munch,
I like my lunch
After my lunch
I see my friends
We play soccer
So get your blocker
When you score
Get some more
My team mates pass
They’re made of glass
Especially when they land on their …toes

Purpose: To describe a time in the playground
In the playground
I put my hand up when the bell rings. I whisper “Can I
please leave now.”
They said, “You can leave.”
I dashed away
to put my lunch box away.
I dash outside. I went to play soccer. I slapped the
ball with my foot. Smack. It launched into the goal.
I said “Hooray” while they were shouting. “Soccer is
the best.” I said.

I munched my lunch up and then the bell rang like a
fire station bell. I raised my hand and I raced inside to put my blue lunchbox
away in my bag.
I went to the green grass shining in the sunlight on
the field.
Next I found Kurtis with his ball. Kurtis sorted the
teams. Then we started a game. I went goal keep. When the ball was coming to
me, I kicked the ball up in the sky. It went spinning into the air.
Soccer is awesome.

When I got the teacher’s attention, I ran off to the
field. I saw Heath. He had his soccer ball with him and some of my other
friends.
Some of them were in my team but others weren’t.
I was sad like a hose going slowly. I got used to it.
I was in Heath’s team. Yay!

I gobbled my lunch. The bell rang and I just ran to
class and put my lunch box away.
I raced to the
playground and I saw Keri and I said to Keri
“We could go on the blue slide.”
Keri went on the slide first. Keri started to go and
she did. She said “I’m ok.”
A wrinkle sound came up, the dirt bubbled.
It was my go. I thought it was going to be ok and it
was.
“That was fun. It was like a roller coaster. It was so
fast. ” I said.
“Let’s go for a race.” Said Keri.“I love racing. It’s
the best. ”
“Let’s race around the field.” I agreed.

I was eating my morning tea and suddenly the bell
rang.
I finished my mouthful and raised my hand. The teacher
let me go. I quickly ran to the cloak bay to put my lunchbox away. I ran to the
junior playground. I quickly walked to the big monkey bars.
Just then I saw
my friend Macy doing it too.
She said, “Do you want to play with me?”
“Yes, I do.” I said. “Do you want to go on the big
slide? “
“Yes.” I said. “But there was a big line.”
“Now it is our turn.” Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
“Ring, ring, ring.” It was like a fire bell.
“Class time.” The teacher said.
To describe a time in the playground
I lifted my hand and I wanted to scream but I knew I
couldn’t. Finally the teacher let me go from eating.
I went up to non stop cricket. I raced up the field
and we played cricket.
We won.

The bell rang. I needed to go because I had a pole
dance with Casey.
So I put my hand up and the teacher let us go straight
away. We ran to the cloak bay. My miniscule lunchbox just fitted in my front
pocket of my bag.
We rapidly got to the bottom field. By the time we got
there we were puffed.
We did our dance. We put our leg up on the pole and
swung around. We jumped. We flipped. So we did our dance until the bell rang
and we ran quickly back.

When the bell
goes it will probably sound like a fire bell. I leave. I am going to zoom off.
I will see my friends when I get to the field. I will let people play my
awesome game. It will be soccer.
When people slap and kick the ball, it will do amazing
bounces.
People will kick and then slip over, or trip people
up. The goaly will save the ball and pass to his team mates. I will launch into
the goal.
My team mates will jump on me and give me hugs. KURTIS

I munch my delicious food then I shoot my hand up and
quickly say to the teacher’s “Look at me!”
Once she sees me, I dash away. I go find my friends,
Marika and Holly. We go to the junior
play ground and wait in line for the huge blue slide.
The bell rings like a fire siren. So I race back to
class with my friends, Holly, Charlotte and Marika.
Then we have to work and finally it becomes home time
and I dash to Oasis. I get to go on the
field. Marika and I build a sandcastle putting a spiral on and then a stick
into the top.
The little kids from Oasis come up and we show
Charlotte our castle that we made. We also make train tracks using our
bottoms sliding in the sand.
It feels like a marvellous day playing.
