Various Topics: Witches, Fires and Weekends

We are learning to include some amazing adjectives and powerful verbs.
The witch

Hunter:
The evil, ugly, wide eyed witch strolled down the path next to the street. She was so mean looking my mum couldn’t look.
She passed me on my bike just the other day with her big, bulging eyes and wrinkly skin. Just then I saw her skinny arms that looked like sticks. She has a curved, bent back with knobbly teeth.
Braiden
The ugly, old witch has wrinkly skin, crooked teeth, a sparrow on her gray hair and a grassy green cape. She has wide eyes, a weird look, magical witch hands and a bad grin. Wow! She is creepy.
Deaglan:
The woman who was as ugly as a munted cactis came to school. She has wrinkly skin and hands like sticks. She has disgusting grey hair.

Olivia Munro:
The wicked witch.
One day I was playing outside on my trampoline. Just then I heard a noise. It flew down, down, down. It was a wicked witch. She had a pet bird. The bird was as black as a stormy night.
Her eyes were as round as a bouncy ball. Her cape was as green as grass and her hands like mud. She had gray hair. When she eats a crawly her teeth were rotten. She hopped on her broom and zoomed as fast as a scooter.

Macy:
The ugly witch came to Beachlands school. Her teeth were really dirty like mud. Her hair was as gray as a rainy day. her cloak was muddy, short and green from walking through the mud to school.
She made a short announcement. “The witches will conquer the world if you don’t stop littering.”
Then I just noticed how her spectacular, diamond and ruby eyes glowed. I ran home to tell my Dad and Mum to stop littering. The wrinkly witch appeared in my house. Her beautifully green cape twirled in the burning yellow light.
This time she had her black as night bird. “Arrr.” The bird squawked, “Arrr.” He snapped at me. “Arrr.” I screamed and jumped back and said, “There’s the witch. There’s the witch.”
And then my Dad came.

Madisyn:
The wicked woman has arms like sticks. She has a green cape with matching hat. She has grey hair and crooked teeth and shoes that look like hot dogs. She has an ugly face and looks evil and old too.   She is off Brave the movie. I think she makes evil potions.  She has a log house that looks like it will fall down.

 The weekend
Deaglan: In the weekend I went to Nixon’s house for four sleep overs. We played mine craft hunger games. Nixon and I were a team. We were looking for chests with food and dimensions.  We won the hunger games so we had to verse each other. The next day we went ice skating for two hours and felt happy.

Macy:
In the weekend, my Dad, my Mum, my brother and me were bored. My Dad went off fishing with his mate.
My Mum decided to call my Dad and ask him to bring home a DVD because last Sunday we had watched the Hobbit 1. There was a dragon. It was so so big. There were people that were so quick and they killed heaps of Orks. They are the kind of thing that look like the ground and have a kind of moss all over them.
Orks are baddies and drink dwarf blood. One dwarf gets shot with a bow and arrow and his blood was poisoned. He couldn’t go on the trip. The sun couldn’t set or rise. They couldn’t find the key hole.
It was …

The Fire
 Marika:  “Fire! Fire!” shouted mum.
“Beep, Beep!” shouted the smoke alarm.
“Quick everyone, we need to get out fast.!”
It was the middle of the night. I sleepily ran out fast to our safe meeting place. When everyone was out Mum called 111.
She said “Can I please have the fire service?”
“Yes. You can!”
The fire service came. They put out the fire.
Everybody shouted “ Hooray, hooray, Hooray!”

Casey:
smoke alarm
magnificent fire
oozing out
fire
exploding
alarm
light
awesome
running away from the fire
moving

Tamati and sam were sleeping when they heard the high pitched Beep and Tamiti was wondering what it was. Then he saw the smoke and ran out of the room with his dog. When they got out of the room Sam looked at the hallway but Tamati said “No ! We have to go out through the living room because of the smoke.”
When they got out, they ran to the gate because it was the safe meeting place. Their Dad swept Tamati up in a big hug and Sam licked him all over. After that Dad called the fire fighters on his mobile phone. The fire fighters arrived with massive breathing gear and hosed the massive, blowing fire.
When Tamati’s brother and sister got back from camp Mum said she was pleased Tamati was safe.

Robot Rampage by Hunter

Robot Rampage
One day there was a boy called Hemi. His Dad said “You have to mow the lawns or you won’t get any pocket money.”
He absolutely hated mowing the lawn so he made a robot to do it for him.

He was relaxing on his chair and he fell asleep. When he woke up he heard screaming. He ran to the gate and saw the robot was mowing people’s lawns. He was leaving gigantic craters of grass all around the place.

He was cutting people’s hair so they were bald- even girls.

So Hemi had to go on the rampage to catch the robot.

Chapter 2. Did the robot destroy the world or was Hemi a hero?

Thumbelina Retelling

Thumbelina Retelling

Chapter1

A little old lady wanted a little girl. She heard of someone who could give you a baby so she went to her.  She got a seed and planted it in a pot. A flower grew and grew. The flower opened. A girl hopped out and said “HI”
She was as tiny as the old lady’s thumb so she called her Thumbelina.
A toad came and said, “What beautiful singing. You will make a good bride for my son the frog.”
So the toad set off to where she lived, putting Thumbelina on a lily pad saying “I’ll just go get him.”
Thumbelina saw some fish and said “Help me”
Chapter 2
So the fish gnawed and gnawed the stalk all day. The stalk finally snapped in 2 and Thumbelina said “Thank you.”
She saw a beautiful butterfly and followed it to a pleasant wood where she made friends with the butterflies. Thumbelina was happy in the woods eating berries and playing with her friends. When the days grew colder and colder it was harder to find food. The butterflies went to hibernate for the winter.
Chapter 3
One winter’s day Thumbelina met a field mouse beside her house.
“I am so hungry. Can you help me?” said Thumbelina.
The mouse took pity on the girl and said “Would you like to stay with me and share my food?”
“Thank you.” said Thumbelina
Chapter 4

Thumbelina lived with the field mouse happily but one day the mouse said
“Sorry but you will have to go live with my friend mole because I won’t have any food left if you stay. Mole will look after you. Why don’t you marry him? He has a much bigger house.”
Thumbelina did not want to marry the mole because she would not see the outside world.
Chapter 5
“Come Thumbelina.” said Mole. “But watch out for that dead bird.”
Thumbelina looked at the bird properly and it wasn’t dead. Thumbelina looked after it all winter long and he finally was ok to fly. So he left.
Thumbelina had to marry the mole.
On the day the swallow said, “Jump on my back and I will take you to a place that will never rain. “
That place had little people too and Thumbelina got married.
The end By Macy.

Thumbelina

An old lady got given a tiny little seed. She said “Thank you.” Tiny, beautiful, delicate, fabulous Thumbelina hatched out of a flower. Thumbelina was beautiful but tiny and the woman loved Thumbelina and cared for her.

One day a toad stole Thumbelina so she could marry her son. Luckily, little as a dot, cute fish saved her from the frog.

Winter came and Thumbelina was cold but then a mouse was just about to go into her house.
Thumbelina said, “Can I stay with you?”

“Yes you can.” The mouse gave Thumbelina food for a while then mouse said, “You need to go live with the mole because my house is too small to fit you.”

Thumbelina did not want to go live underground with the mole.
The mole said, “Watch out! There is a dead bird in the tunnel.”
Thumbelina helped the sick swallow.

In the summer Thumbelina looked at the sky for the last time crying with tears. She saw a flock of birds flying above Thumbelina and then she saw a bird swoop down. It was the swallow.

The swallow took Thumbelina to a lovely, beautiful fabulous, amazing and awesome summer palace and Thumbelina met the flower people. And the flower people called Thumbelina Maia.
Maia married the prince and they all lived happily ever after.
Lucas Reid.

Thumbelina
Once upon a time there was a woman who wanted to have a little girl of her own to love and care for. As time passed and she had no children she became very sad.
Then one day she heard of a wise old woman who could help and she went.
The old woman gave the woman a sunflower seed and the woman went home and planted it. A little girl came out of it.
Thumbelina got caught by an ugly toad. The little fish saved her. Then she saw a mouse.
She said, “Do you want to marry the mole?”
Thumbelina said, “No, no, no!”
The mole said, “Look out for that dead bird.”
Thumbelina saw it wasn’t dead and the bird was alive and the bird was a swallow.
The swallow took Thumbelina to flower land where her real home was. She got married to a handsome prince and they lived happily ever after.

by Ryder.

Thumbelina
Once upon a time a woman was very sad. She longed to have a little girl. She went to a friend who gave her a flowerpot. Thumbelina jumped out of the flower.
One day Thumbelina was singing by the fence when an along came a frog and kidnapped her. He went to the river and put her on a lily pad. Thumbelina told the fish and they broke the vine.
A few days later Thumbelina met a mouse. Thumbelina said, “I am very hungry and thirsty.”
Suddenly one day, the mouse said, ”You have to go next door and live with mole.” So she went next door and mole was waiting outside his hole.
When she went in she saw a swallow. He was very cold and hungry. So the little girl looked after the bird until the summer time.
A few months later it was winter. The swallow came back and said, “Come with me to another country.”
She met a boy and they kissed and they all lived happily ever after.

At Playtime

At Playtime

A playtime poem
When I eat my lunch
I go munch, munch,
I like my lunch
So crunch, crunch,
After my lunch
I see my friends
We play soccer
So get your blocker
When you score
Get some more
My team mates pass
They’re made of glass
Especially when they land on their …toes

By Kurtis.

Purpose: To describe a time in the playground

In the playground
I put my hand up when the bell rings. I whisper “Can I please leave now.”
They said, “You can leave.”
I dashed away to put my lunch box away.

I dash outside. I went to play soccer. I slapped the ball with my foot. Smack. It launched into the goal.
I said “Hooray” while they were shouting. “Soccer is the best.” I said.
By Braiden

Playground By Deaglan.
I munched my lunch up and then the bell rang like a fire station bell. I raised my hand and I raced inside to put my blue lunchbox away in my bag.
I went to the green grass shining in the sunlight on the field.
Next I found Kurtis with his ball. Kurtis sorted the teams. Then we started a game. I went goal keep. When the ball was coming to me, I kicked the ball up in the sky. It went spinning into the air.
Soccer is awesome.

Playing at Lunch Caleb.

When I got the teacher’s attention, I ran off to the field. I saw Heath. He had his soccer ball with him and some of my other friends.

Some of them were in my team but others weren’t.
I was sad like a hose going slowly. I got used to it.

I was in Heath’s team. Yay!

Playground.  byRomilly
I gobbled my lunch. The bell rang and I just ran to class and put my lunch box away.
I raced to the playground and I saw Keri and I said to Keri
“We could go on the blue slide.”
Keri went on the slide first. Keri started to go and she did. She said “I’m ok.”
A wrinkle sound came up, the dirt bubbled.
It was my go. I thought it was going to be ok and it was.
“That was fun. It was like a roller coaster. It was so fast. ” I said.
“Let’s go for a race.” Said Keri.“I love racing. It’s the best. ”
“Let’s race around the field.” I agreed.

Playground by Olivia Munroe.
I was eating my morning tea and suddenly the bell rang.
I finished my mouthful and raised my hand. The teacher let me go. I quickly ran to the cloak bay to put my lunchbox away. I ran to the junior playground. I quickly walked to the big monkey bars.
Just then I saw my friend Macy doing it too.
She said, “Do you want to play with me?”
“Yes, I do.” I said. “Do you want to go on the big slide? “
“Yes.” I said. “But there was a big line.”
“Now it is our turn.” Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
“Ring, ring, ring.” It was like a fire bell.
“Class time.” The teacher said.
To describe a time in the playground

I lifted my hand and I wanted to scream but I knew I couldn’t. Finally the teacher let me go from eating.
I went up to non stop cricket. I raced up the field and we played cricket.

We won.
Hunter.

Playtime

The bell rang. I needed to go because I had a pole dance with Casey.
So I put my hand up and the teacher let us go straight away. We ran to the cloak bay. My miniscule lunchbox just fitted in my front pocket of my bag.
We rapidly got to the bottom field. By the time we got there we were puffed.
We did our dance. We put our leg up on the pole and swung around. We jumped. We flipped. So we did our dance until the bell rang and we ran quickly back.
 MACY

When the bell goes it will probably sound like a fire bell. I leave. I am going to zoom off. I will see my friends when I get to the field. I will let people play my awesome game. It will be soccer.
When people slap and kick the ball, it will do amazing bounces.
People will kick and then slip over, or trip people up. The goaly will save the ball and pass to his team mates. I will launch into the goal.
My team mates will jump on me and give me hugs.  KURTIS

Olivia Long Playing
I munch my delicious food then I shoot my hand up and quickly say to the teacher’s “Look at me!”
Once she sees me, I dash away. I go find my friends, Marika and Holly.  We go to the junior play ground and wait in line for the huge blue slide.
The bell rings like a fire siren. So I race back to class with my friends, Holly, Charlotte and Marika.
Then we have to work and finally it becomes home time and I dash to Oasis.  I get to go on the field. Marika and I build a sandcastle putting a spiral on and then a stick into the top.
The little kids from Oasis come up and we show Charlotte our castle that we made. We also make train tracks using our bottoms  sliding in the  sand.
It feels like a marvellous day playing.
